The site is affirmed by physical and bacterial parameters to be listed as 'impaired' as indicated on the Georgia EPD 303d Impaired Waters list. There is intense erosion due to storm water events. These storm water events are washing away so much soil the roots of many trees are being exposed and many are in danger of collapsing within the near future in terms of years. During non storm events the general flow of water at Marsh Creek Site 2 was very mild to nearly stagnant. Keep in mind that Site 2 is very near the head water of the creek and is primarily surrounded by low-density residential housing though within close proximity to heavy commercial use areas and nearby Interstate roads.
